Reliability-first backups for WordPress

Backups you can trust — even on big sites.

Backuno is built around one idea: predictable backups across real hosting environments. Local backups, remote storage, retention rules, and exports you can actually deploy.

Why Backuno exists

Many backup plugins look good until the website is large, the server is slow, or loopback requests fail. Backuno’s goal is to be the plugin you can ship to clients and not fear the “Preparing backup…” limbo.

Predictable execution

No hidden background magic. Backups run in a controlled way that matches what hosting can actually do.

Remote storage done right

Keep local copies and push to remote providers with separate retention rules (Premium).

Made for real hosting

Designed to survive different PHP stacks (LiteSpeed, nginx, Apache, FPM), timeouts, and big file counts.

Storage providers

Choose where your backups live. Keep a local copy and optionally push a remote copy.

FAQ

Straight answers. No marketing fog.

Will it work for large sites (8GB, 20GB+)?

Backuno is designed for large sites: big media folders, many files, and large databases. Results still depend on your hosting limits, but the focus is predictable execution.

Tip: For huge sites, use system cron scheduling and remote storage for off-site safety.
Does Backuno include restore?

The Restore UI is visible but the restore execution is not released yet. It’s clearly marked as Coming soon.

This avoids “Restore unlocked ✅” messaging before it’s real.
Do you keep local and remote retention separately?

Yes in Premium: you can keep, for example, 5 local backups and 10 remote backups without mixing the cleanup logic.

What remote providers are supported?

Premium supports Google Drive, FTP, Amazon S3 (AWS-style endpoints), and Backblaze B2. S3-compatible providers can be added later if needed.

Is it safe on hosts that block loopback requests?

Backuno’s approach avoids fragile reliance on loopback/async behavior for core backup runs. This improves reliability on restrictive hosting.

Do I need WP-Cron or system cron?

Manual backups work without cron. For scheduled backups, Premium supports both WP-Cron and system cron. System cron is recommended for high reliability.
